Greetings my fellow Nigerians.

I appreciate the leadership, management and organizers of this great event to celebrate the freedom of the female gender on this special 60th Independence anniversary of our nation Nigeria.

It is with great joy in my heart that I Prince Chidiebere  Cosmas Ani, the privileged… Visionary Board Group Leader of GM worldwide stand before you today to say Nigerian Independence Day October 1st remains a special date for all Nigerians as this marks the day when we attained one of the most precious of human desires — Freedom!

As a citizen of this nation by birth, I have been privileged to witness several Independence Day celebrations despite the different trials and troubles faced by the nation in each passing year.

My call today is not to bring an end to celebration but that we give a new reason for it every year.

Oh salute the martyrs that fought for our independence; we love our country as much as they did.
Today, we recite our national pledge with pride and stand together because of the blood they shed.

I say we celebrate ever more in remembrance of the good they have done. But note, what we have was won 60 years ago.

The love those men had was seen in action and celebrated as results. Today, what have we to show for the love we proclaim?

Empty promises and lies?
Theft / stealing?

To me, October 1st of every year is a day of thanks giving, reflection and rededication.

I therefore urge everyone that today be not just a day of celebration, but a day of reflection and rededication.

Action speaks louder than words.

Happy Independence Day Nigeria.
